Honored and humbled. When one of my good friends Devin messaged me and said his brother was getting married and asked if I would like to photograph the wedding there was no answer but yes.
Rena and Jensen’s wedding day was exactly what a September day in Western Washington should be. For Rena the day started off at the gorgeous Westin Hotel in Bellevue while Jensen and his guys were enjoying the Seahawks game. Their ceremony overlooked Lake Washington at Luther Burbank Park on Mercer Island. Every part of their wedding came together beautifully and as friends and family surrounded them, they pledged their love and lives to each other and their adorable little boy.
Their reception was filled with love, laughter and even a few tears. Rena’s father gave a heartfelt speech on how a marriage and a diamond are similar and many of us had a hard time keeping our eyes dry. Her father then proceeded to invite all the wedding guests for a visit in the Philippines. (Rena assured us all he was serious!)
Thank you Devin for giving me this amazing opportunity!

Rena chose to display her lovely David’s Bridal wedding gown on a mannequin. I love it when brides plan not only the big parts of their day but also the details.
She even sprayed a little glitter on her shoes!
Her bridal jewelry was so simple and yet very elegant.
Rena decided to do her own make-up.
Isn’t she GORGEOUS! I love this image so much.
One thing I loved about photographing Rena was her variety of smiles and laughter.
Seriously she is stunning.
Many of Rena’s bridesmaids have been friends since they were young and I always love photographing these types of relationships.
I don’t know if it was planned or luck but the lighting during the ceremony was perfect.
Rena’s lovely parents both walked her down the aisle.
It’s always so precious when parents include their children in their wedding ceremony.
And sometimes those children have a will of their own. This image pretty much sums up this little guy.
One of my favorite angles for getting a first kiss.
Her laughter is contagious!
I get always try to get this particular photograph through a little trick of the trade!
I had about oh ten minutes or so for portraits of these two but great light and two people in love can give you amazing images in a short period of time.
Right before they were announced into their reception I saw this AMAZING light and I just had to grab them. Yes, I had too!
Rena’s reception decor was so simple and lovely.
The toasts allowed for all types of emotions from laughter to tears.
I’m tempted to call this a frosting fight. I believe both parties lost!
The evening end like most weddings with dancing! This crowd certainly knew how to stay entertained until the end.
